Vision

Nutrition lab for the study of growth development and inflammatory diseases

My vision is to enlist knowledge in basic nutritional sciences and to bring it to practical application in order to enhance the health of children and pregnant mothers. My way of doing so, involves bridging between clinical practice and basic science, while moving from clinical observations to understanding the underlying mechanisms. In practice, my research for the mechanism of action of vitamin A, iron and PUFA, separately and in conjunction with inflammation will enable to put forward a model suggesting how to attenuate inflammation. In addition, I work on using staple foods like chickpea to create new, affordable, non allergenic, nutritious formulae for infants and mothers, to combat malnutrition in the developing world.
